Study Title: Low force and low movement accessible switches for adults with physical disabilities: A qualitative study of user experiences.
Rationale: Improving the quality and availability of Accessible Technology for individuals with physical disabilities.
Study Description: The research study aims to test the functionality and user experiences of switches developed by research team members, colloquially known as Lift and Twitch Switches.
Participants will be provided with a Twitch or Lift Switch, free of charge. The research study would ask for participants to be part of the study over a period of two weeks with the option to test updated versions for up to four months. Participants will be asked to participate in an interview following each round of testing, for up to three rounds.
The information gathered from this study will be used to identify if the Switches meet the functional goals of participants and to further improve the design of the Switches.
Recruitment Dates: 2023-09-01 to 2024-02-16
Who can participate: Individuals 19+ with a physical disability, access to the internet, and access to a caregiver or individual who can assist them in setting up the device.
